Close tonight's ordering.
Keep tomorrow's preorders open.
Your kitchen closes at 9 PM. With Pro, you can still accept orders for a selected lunch bundle while keeping ordinary items unavailable.
This sample uses Pro 5.0.2 with a daily schedule of 11 AM–2 PM and 5 PM–9 PM. At 10 PM, ordinary ordering is closed; only the selected preorder product remains eligible.
The kitchen is closed.
Lunch preorders remain available for tomorrow.

With the lunch bundle in the cart
Set it up in Pro
- Check your hours first. Follow the basic schedule guide. In Schedules → Settings → Options → General Settings, select the active schedule and enable Disable Checkout Button for closed-hours protection.
- Open Preorder Settings. Go to Schedules → Settings → Preorder → Preorder Settings and enable Enable Preorder Feature.
- Choose Specific Products. Under Preorder for, select Specific Products. Add the lunch bundle under Preorder products, leaving ordinary same-day products unselected.
- Write a clear message and button label. Use the sample values below, adapted to what your business can actually fulfill, then save.
| Setting | Sample value |
|---|---|
| Preorder Button Text | Preorder for tomorrow |
| Preorder message | Preorder: %item_title%. Pickup is available from %next_opening_time%. |
The message replaces %item_title% with the product name and %next_opening_time% with the next scheduled opening. That time is not a booked pickup appointment. Use pickup wording only if your own fulfillment process supports it.
Check it as a shopper
On a test store, simulate a closed period. Confirm an unselected item cannot be ordered, the selected item can be added, and its cart message shows the correct next opening. A preorder-only cart should be allowed through checkout. Test a mixed cart, an open period, mobile, caching and your actual checkout/payment extensions before using it live.
Our closed-period check verified the selected product's eligibility, preorder button wording, cart addition, next-opening message and classic checkout guard. It did not place or charge an order. Blocks checkout, payment completion, fulfillment and third-party integrations are not established by this example.
Is this the right upgrade?
If you simply need checkout to close overnight, Free already does that. Pro is useful when you want selected products—or all products—to remain orderable as preorders while the store is closed. It does not add delivery slots, capacity planning or a reservation calendar.
